Welcome to the Commonwealth Financial Accountability Review (CFAR) blog
Welcome to the CFAR blog.
We are launching the CFAR blog for the Department of Finance and Deregulation Discussion Paper, Is Less More? Towards Better Commonwealth Performance. Our goal in setting up this blog is to enable consultation with the community and stakeholders on the discussion paper. We are seeking your input on one, some or all the issues and propositions that are raised in the discussion paper.
Please keep in mind that the proposals outlined have not received government approval and do not represent the views of government.
We are also interested in your views on how we can make this blog an effective mechanism for participation and consultation.
I look forward to reading your comments.

The outcome of this Review has the potential to significantly shake the financial framework with far reaching budgetary and financial changes for every APS manager.
The blog is an excellent addition to the traditional face to face, written and published forms of communication and consultation. I will be visiting the blog regularly to stay in touch with the discussion.

Your discussion paper in the form available from which this comment is posted is virtually unreadable because of the bizarre colour background and font selection, black and blue on an off-navy background. Where is it available in readable pdf download or has the Department got an idiosyncratic approach to public discussion, best conducted through a glass darkly?
Hi Paul,
We haven’t noticed any issues with the readability of the PDF from our end. It is meant to be black text on a white background. However, we will email you a copy directly.
If anyone else is having difficulties displaying the PDF, could you please let us know.

One way to make it interactive is to allow people to comment and have a mediator to manage the Q&A for inappropriate content etc.
Thanks, Rohan.
We are keeping an eye on what people are saying. We would encourage anyone with a question to put it up to help stimulate debate.
